Niagara Falls firefighters pull a man from the freezing waters of Hyde Park Lake Wednesday as his loyal dogs look on, one even holding his glove. Witnesses told police 70-year-old Pascal Scrufari had been walking his three Golden Retriever dogs near the lake about 3 p.m. on February 15, 2012, when he ran out onto the lake after one of the dogs and fell through some thin ice. Scrufari later died at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center leaving his dogs homeless and in the care of the SPCA of Niagara. Niagara Falls firefighters were quickly on the scene and pulled Scrufari out of the water.
