Wheatfield, NY - Teachers became students on a fieldtrip to the Niagara Aerospace Museum. Teachers were there to learning about a STEAM framework for course development and exploring ways to meet the demands of preparing children for STEAM careers. The Erie 1 BOCES STEAM Academy presents the first STEAM playground, hosted by the Niagara Falls Aerospace Museum. STEAM is an acronym referring to the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. This day-long presentation will allow for participants to hear about STEAM programs that are up and running in the area and then engage with imaginative play and hands on experiences of their own. Here, Niagara Falls High School applied innovation teachers Valerie Rotella-Zafuto and Amy Kilmer get an example of OSMO Gaming from Buffalo & Erie Co. Librarian Kara Stock.
