Lewiston, NY - Justin Currie and Sam Torrie, both of Lewiston, enjoy New Years day skating at the Lewiston Family Ice Rink at Academy Park on Center Street. The rink is open through mid January, Monday - Thursday 4 to 8 p.m, Friday 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday 12 to 10 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 8 p.m. and is free to those with their own skates. Children under 12 must wear a helmet, that can be rented for $1, along with skates for $5 if needed, plus there is plenty of seating in the heated snack shack to enjoy treats, hot beverages and watch the skaters.
