Niagara Falls, NY - The brand new NY Power Authority "Breaker II" ice breaker cuts through the wind and waves on the upper Niagara River. Breaker II was built in Rhode Island and brought to its new home in Niagara Falls in 2020 to keep Power Authority water intakes clear of ice, protect area shorelines and help with the installation and removal of the iceboom at the mouth of the Niagara River.
