Niagara Falls, NY - Aquarium of Niagara Executive Director Gary Siddall presented Six-year-old Charlotte Johnson with a certificate of appreciation and an original painting by Cooper the sea lion for donating $750. Charlotte recently celebrated her birthday, and she asked for people to make donations to the Aquarium of Niagara instead of gifting her presents. Charlotte was joined by her sister Margot, 2, her mother Holly Shaw and fater Brian Johnson.
Charlotte recently went on a trip with her family to California where they visited the Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC). There, Charlotte learned that one of the seals at the Aquarium of Niagara, Lumiere, was rescued and rehabilitated at PMMC. She was inspired by his rescue story, and decided to dedicate her birthday to fundraising for the Aquarium of Niagara, the place that gave Lumiere his forever home.
