6th Annual Art Off The Wall is Going Virtual!
Virtual Fundraiser to benefit the Carnegie Art Center
Online Thursday, December 3 until Sunday, December 6, 2020
NORTH TONAWANDA (NY) - Please join us as we celebrate the 6th Annual “Art Off The Wall” Exhibition and Fundraiser to benefit the Carnegie Art Center in North Tonawanda. This year’s virtual event will be online from Thursday, December 3 until Sunday, December 6, 2020 and will give visitors of the online event a unique opportunity to purchase original 5 x 7 inch artwork. Local artists supporting the Carnegie Art Center have generously donated all works priced at $20 each for the event.
For a $10 general admission, attendees may view and purchase artwork in the virtual event for 3 days starting on the morning of Friday, December 4th and will end at 7PM on Sunday, December 6th.
For a $20 donation fee online, attendees may purchase a FAST PASS which will allow them to gain entry to the online event on Thursday, December 3rd, one day earlier than general admission. This early admission FAST PASS gives you a better chance of securing your favorite pieces of artwork and allows you to be the first bidder in the online auction. There are a limited number of FAST PASSES available.
General admission ticktes and FAST PASSED can be purchased on the Center’s website at http://www.carnegieartcenter.org.
The Center may also allow in-person viewing of the artwork the week of the online event, depending on the current restrictions and guidelines set by the state. Visit their Facebook page or website for updates regarding in-person viewing.
Also, our fine art silent auction returns for its fourth year at the event. This year’s theme, Cigar Box Art, includes local and national award winning artists auctioning an original artwork created from an antique cigar box with proceeds split 50/50 between the artists and the Center. The highest bidder of each box on Sunday, Dec. 6th at 7PM will win the artwork!
This year’s cigar box silent auction artists include:
Madeline Bartley, Michael Beam, Beverly DiPalma, Cornelia Dohse Peck, Bobby Griffiths , Robert Hirsch, Eva Huber, George Afedzi Hughes, Jayne Hughes, Christopher Kameck, Bethany Krull, Lorrie Love, Thomas Matyas, Gerald Mead, Ginny O'Brien, Mike Basinski , Lowell Merritt, Ruby Merritt, Cindi O'Mara, Nancy J. Parisi, Dennis Stierer, Alexa Wajed, Mek Wajed, Janna Willoughby-lohr, Rosemary Williams and Necole Zayatz.
Once a general admission ticket or FAST PASS is purchased, the Center will email attendees a link to access the online event.
Please note, only those with a pre-purchased FAST PASS will have access to the online auction on December 3rd. General admission can view and purchase artwork starting on December 4th until December 6th at 7PM. All purchased artwork from the online event can be picked up or shipped to each purchaser after December 6th.
What is "Art Off The Wall" all about?
In 2015, "Art Off The Wall" marked the re-opening of the Carnegie Art Center. This event benefits the local art community while raising funds for the Carnegie. All 5x7 inch artwork will be posted online without the benefit of artist signatures until after your purchase. Your favorite artwork displayed at the show could be the work of a college student or the work of an established WNY artist. Aspiring art collectors are given a rare opportunity to plunge into the purchase of their first “real” piece of art without breaking the bank. Established art collectors can test their palettes by learning if they have purchased their favorite artist or if they've “discovered” a new talent. $20 will buy you a sketch, watercolor, acrylic, oil, collage and other artist offerings. All proceeds will benefit the Carnegie Art Center and help strengthen its mission to provide programs and events that promote the arts-at-large within the communities where we live, grow and thrive.
The Carnegie Art Center is located in a structure built in 1904 as the City of North Tonawanda’s public library and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since 1976, the Carnegie, has been operating as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation offering the community art exhibitions, art and dance classes, as well as support to artists and art organizations. For more information please contact the Carnegie Art Center at (716) 694-4400 or view our website at http://www.carnegieartcenter.org or find us on Facebook.
