Niagara Falls, NY - Casey William Milbrand said the title of his mural on Old Falls Street "Let's Fall in Love," was inspired by old songs his mother used to play. "The sherbert rainbow color was inspired by the mist of Niagara Falls and the custom font , to me, invokes an old fashioned ice cream parlor feeling. Milbrand said the mural on Old Falls Street will be finished in time for an official dedication at 5 p.m. on Friday.
This Friday, July 26th at 5:00pm, we are hosting an “opening ceremony” for the new “Let’s Fall in Love” Mural on Old Falls Street, USA. We are pulling out the red carpet – literally – and we want you to be there with us.
The mural is a giant, colorful homage to the “Honeymoon Capital” of the world, spanning over (150) feet long and over (20) feet tall. The mural was created and painted by artist Casey Milbrand, of Buffalo.
“I was inspired by old love songs and the honeymoon era, so “Let’s Fall in Love” was a perfect phrase because everyone could connect with that, and hopefully everyone falls in love with the mural. There’s a sherbet rainbow background and that was sort of inspired by the moment when you see the rainbow in the mist of the falls, so I did that across the whole background. My hope for this mural is to cheer people up on their way to the Falls, giving them a moment to create a memory with their family.” – C. Milbrand
The finishing touches are currently being applied to the mural, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with our local supporters, downtown neighbors and visitors from around the world.
This Friday, we are creating a “happy hour” atmosphere around this “Red Carpet Reveal.” We will have music playing and beer & wine available. This event happens immediately before our Friday Night Concert featuring 90 West at 7:00pm, and there is a special entertainment opening performance from Elektra the Fire Performer starting at 6:00pm.
The mural project was commissioned by Old Falls Street, USA on behalf of USA Niagara Development. For more info, contact Tony Maggiotto, Director of Special Events, at email@example.com, or 716-353-3518.
