Lockport, NY - Students from across Niagara County pass by a casket with photos of people killed by drunk or distracted drivers, all part of the Niagara County Sheriff's Office 24th annual traffic safety fair at the Kenan Center.
Niagara County Sheriff's Office will be having their 24th annual traffic safety fair. This will include opportunities for shots with many local high schoolers doing cool stuff. Press Release below.
Niagara County- The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office inconjunction with Niagara County STOP-DWI, Niagara CountyOffice of Traffic Safety and the New York State Police arepleased to announce May 1st as media day for the 24thannual Niagara County Traffic Safety Fair. The event willbe held at the Kenan Center Arena, 195 Beattie Avenue inLockport. All media are invited to attend a pressconference at the event on this date at 10:00 AM.The Niagara County Traffic Safety Fair is an event hostedby several community partners with the goal of raisingawareness to the dangers of drinking and driving,distracted driving and driver safety for high schoolstudents.Multiple events are planned for the students during thisevent. They will be given the opportunity to hear from aVictim Impact Speaker who will discuss a tragedy involvingdistracted driving. They will also take part inpresentations from the participating agencies concerning avariety of safety issues such as wearing a seatbelt,texting while driving, etc. The students will alsoparticipate in various activities wearing goggles whichsimulate the effects of intoxication.This year’s event runs from May 1st - May 2nd with students across Niagara County participating.
