PRESS RELEASE:
Eighth Annual “Meet Me at the CAM” Lecture Series
Portraits of the Artists: Buffalo Society of Artists Films and Talks at the Castellani Art Museum
NIAGARA UNIVERSITY – The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University will open its “Meet Me at the CAM” lecture series at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. This is the eighth year for the series, which features films and lectures on a variety of topics related to art history and artists. The programs are scheduled on five consecutive Tuesdays: May 17, 24, 31, June 7 & 14, 2016. Attendance is free for members of the Castellani Art Museum and Niagara Arts & Cultural Center, and $5 per program for non members. Light refreshments are served.
This year’s 5-part series celebrates the 125th Anniversary of the Buffalo Society of Artists. Join us on Tuesday mornings to view films from BSA’s Video Archive Project and hear from several accomplished BSA artists. According to Beth Pedersen, Chair of BSA’s Video Archive Project: “This type of program is something that was visualized many moons ago and it is so exciting to see it come to light. Through this we are further fulfilling our desire to use these works as an educational and cultural tool for the Western New York community.” Many of the artists will be present to address any questions or comments coming from the audience. We will screen three to five short films at each session.
