Niagara Falls, NY - Ira Noel rakes leaves in front of his Champlain Avenue home. City crews were out in force picking up leaves on Cayuga Island on Tuesday.
Press Release:
Effective Monday, November 14 pick up will begin in the following areas and run through November 18:
· Military Rd. (Cayuga Drive) to 104th Street from Niagara Falls Blvd. to Buffalo Ave., including Cayuga Island
· Buffalo Avenue to Seneca Avenue from Hyde Park Blvd. to 47th Street
Residents should not rake leaves into the street until their area is announced for pick up, as wet leaves can create hazardous conditions.
Please remember to remove all items, such as basketball rims, from the City margin as they impede the City right of way and could be damaged during leaf pickup.
Leaves can also be placed curbside in clear plastic bags or brown paper bags, next to your trash cart, for pickup on your regular trash pickup day through the end of November.
Additional sections of the city scheduled for pick up will be announced on a weekly basis through December.
Questions should be directed to the Department of Public Works: 286-4840.
